As 5/8 seed, Jack received a bye in the 1st round. In the 2nd round he beat Oliver Ramsey (11/7, 11/3, 11/9) followed by a great 3-1 win in the quarter final against Yusef Sheikh (England ranked No 2 at U13s) – 12/10, 11/3, 4/11, 11/9. In the semi-final Jack played some superb squash against Jonah Bryant (British Junior Open Champion U13s), and although he lost 3-0, he had a game ball in the 3rd. In the 3rd-4th play-off Jack met Finlay Withington (England ranked No 6 at U15s) and lost 3-0 (11/7, 11/5, 13/11). A great 4th place for Jack.

Louis was seeded 9/16 for the tournament and beat Eddie Murray in the 1st round (11/6, 11/5, 11/6). In the 2nd round Louis played Yusef Sheikh (England ranked No 2 at U13s). Louis played a great game and was unlucky to loose in 5 (6/11, 11/8, 11/7, 10/12, 11/6).
Louis beat Oliver Ramsey (11/4, 11/2, 11/7) before beating Caleb Boy (England ranked No 3 at U13s) – 11/3, 6/11, 4/11, 11/7, 11/9 in a very entertaining match. In the 9th-10th play-off Louis played James Kettle (England ranked No 5 at U13s). Last month in the Silver tournament in Purley, Louis was unlucky to be disqualified from the match after being violently sick in the 5th game with food poisoning. This time Louis played with great poise and pressure and won in 5 (11/8, 12/10, 9/11, 5/11, 11/6) to finish a very commendable 9th.
Both Jack and Louis had a great tournament in Northumbria and hope to continue the Cornish success at the Chiltern Silver Open next month.
Wow, well done Jack and Louis and you Alan for driving them forward. Fantastic job.
