Louis Murray became the BU19s South West Regional winner at 16 years old. In a high quality final against Billy Bedwell, Louis won 2-0 (11-6, 11-8).

Jamie Lang Squash Academy, Saturday mornings, Truro Squash Club
Great to see so many Cornwall juniors, boys and girls of all ages at Jamie Lang training this morning. The girls were trying out using the ball machine. All having a great time.
Cornwall Junior County Championship
Great to see junior Cornwall County Championships this weekend. Lewis Vinten (right) won BU13s, Myles Roberts won BU15s and Louis Murray won BU17s and BU19s. Great to see the juniors competing and the next generation of players coming through. County tournaments are essential.

Louis 3rd in Sheffield Junior Open, Silver tournament
Louis Murray was seeded 2 in this tournament. The tournament was a 64 draw with 38 players in the BU17s.
After a bye in the 1st round, Louis played Englishman Alex Banhidai in the 2nd round. This was a competitive match, Louis winning 3-0 (12-10, 11-8, 11-9).
In the next round Louis played Cory Harding. The last time Louis played Cory, Louis went 2-0 down and had to fight back to win 3-2. This time Louis had to fight back from 2-1 down. A great match, between two good friends played with a great sense of sportsmanship. Louis won in 5 (11-8, 8-11, 7-11, 11-1, 11-2).
In the quarters Louis played Irishman Elliot Kelly. Elliot had a great result in the previous round, beating Welsh No.1 Joshua Davies, but Louis played precise squash to win 3-0 (11-6, 11-3, 11-8).
In the semis, Louis played Irish No.1, Jack O’Flynn. Again, great friends with a history of very competitive matches. This was an amazing match, with Louis having match balls in the 4th. Eventually Jack won the 1.5 hour match in 5 (11-8, 11-13, 11-13, 12-10, 11-8). It really was a great advertisement for squash, athleticism and great sportsmanship.
In the 3rd/4th playoff, Louis beat Englishman James Carman 3-1 (11-5, 12-14, 11-5, 11-3) to finish 3rd in the tournament.

Louis wins U19s Bronze at Exeter Golf and Country Club
After losing in both the U17s and U19s final at the last EGCC tournament in June (losing to Ioan Sharpe in the U17s final), Louis Murray was focussed on producing a good performance in this tournament. Really good final against Ioan, Louis winning 3-0.
Louis wins U19s at Millfield
Louis Murray won the BU19s Bronze event at Millfield School. Louis beat Welshman Ian Sharpe in the semis (11-4, 11-8, 11-6) and beat Billy Bedwell in the final (Billy had a great 3-2 win in the semis against Joshua Payne). Final result 11-6, 11-9, 11-3.

Pro Challenger Tour tournament
Louis Murray played a PSA pro Challenger Tournament in Manchester this weekend. This was the PSA 305 squash Open at Cheetham Hill Squash Club. Louis had a tough 1st round match against Adam Goad (19 years old, former England No. 1 and Columbia University bound). Louis played some great squash, losing 10-12, 2-11, 6-11 (31min).
